Youth Director
The Youth Director has the primary responsibility to plan, organize, and implement a wide range of activities for junior high school and senior high school youth. The goal is to facilitate the involvement and inclusion of youth in the life of the church and lead them in deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ. The director must have a passion for and provide leadership in building quality relationships with the youth, creating a climate of trust, love, concern, openness, inclusiveness, and understanding.

Position: Youth Director
Full or Part Time: Full Time Salaried (will consider Part-Time)
Accountable to: Director of Discipleship
Job Summary:
The Youth Director has the primary responsibility to plan, organize, and implement a wide range of activities for junior high school and senior high school youth. The goal is to facilitate the involvement and inclusion of youth in the life of the church and lead them in deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ. The director must have a passion for and provide leadership in building quality relationships with the youth, creating a climate of trust, love, concern, openness, inclusiveness, and understanding.

Job Responsibilities:
Discipleship:
• Plan, organize, and implement a weekly program for junior and senior high youth. Weekly fellowship gatherings could include any of the following: worship, mission/service, education and recreation.
• Plan and organize youth Sunday School, Bible studies and other Christian education opportunities.
• Plan, organize, and implement the Confirmation classes.
• Plan, organize, and implement retreats, camps, and summer mission trips.
• Plan, organize, and implement fundraising efforts for summer mission trips.
• Develop leadership among the youth.
• Facilitate youth involvement and visibility.
• Ensure the Safe Sanctuary Policy is followed, including training volunteers.
• Maintain contact with college age young adults to affirm the church’s concern for them.
• Perform other duties as required by the Director of Discipleship or the Senior Pastor.
Staffing:
• Recruit, train, and develop teams of volunteers for regular ministry to youth.
• Create and lead a team of parents to provide input and feedback on the Youth Program, as well as assist with special events.
Worship:
• Plan, execute, and/or supervise meaningful worship experiences for camps, youth mission, youth ministry events, youth Sunday, and at such other times as the Senior Pastor may direct.
Care and Nurture:
• Maintain regular contact with the youth and serve as a resource for individual youth in the development of their own faith journey.
• Support and care for youth in a season of distress or trouble.
• Counsel youth and their families as needed.
Other Leadership:
• Attend weekly staff meetings and semi-monthly discipleship meetings.
• Maintain regular and announced office hours.
• Oversee the youth facility spaces and equipment needs.
• Manage the youth ministry budget.
• Perform administrative and other functions necessary for the youth ministries.
• Work collaboratively with all discipleship areas of Church of the Saviour to promote consistent Christian-based ministries.
• Work to integrate the Youth Program with other groups and ministries within the church to create community and cohesiveness.
Job Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Strong experience in directing youth ministries.
• Have a solid understanding of the Bible and ability to relate the scriptures to everyday lives of youth.
• Have a personal calling to minister to youth and nurture their discipleship.
• Possess strong organizational and team building skills.
• Possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite. Have the ability to learn and utilize church database.
