Job Summary
As Vice President of Development, you will help engage and unite our community of families, donors, researchers, and volunteers who are determined to make a difference.
Job Description
What you will do:
- Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees to lead the development and implementation of our comprehensive revenue strategy.
- Build, inspire and manage a team of best-in-class fundraisers
- Authentically recruit, engage and steward new and prospective corporate partners
- Directly manage a portfolio of top individual donors and corporate partners
- Lead the business development strategy for our Columbus Market
- Work collaboratively with our events and marketing team to design engagement experiences that will showcase our impact and inspire action
- Lead and manage the CFK Resource Development Committee and Emerging Leaders Board
- Be an external ambassador for the organization, advocating for our mission and having a visible presence in our community
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Advance degree or certification in nonprofit management, fundraising or related field, is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively experience in fundraising, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers
- Proven track record of successfully raising significant funds through corporate sponsorships, individual giving and peer-to-peer fundraising
- Experience managing development teams and working closely with executive leadership and boards
- Experience in healthcare or cancer organizations is a plus

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage, steward, and solicit donors at all levels.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate a compelling case for support.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to fundraising.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Superb public speaking skills with confidence and professionalism
- Strong technical skills including:
- utilizing Office 365 and highly functional in excel, word, outlook, teams
- general skills in working in a donor database, pulling reports on demand
- exposure to Canva, GiveSmart, DonorDrive and Donor Perfect is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary starting at $90,000 with bonus structure
