Job Summary

As Vice President of Development, you will help engage and unite our community of families, donors, researchers, and volunteers who are determined to make a difference.

Job Description

What you will do:

  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees to lead the development and implementation of our comprehensive revenue strategy.
  • Build, inspire and manage a team of best-in-class fundraisers
  • Authentically recruit, engage and steward new and prospective corporate partners
  • Directly manage a portfolio of top individual donors and corporate partners
  • Lead the business development strategy for our Columbus Market
  • Work collaboratively with our events and marketing team to design engagement experiences that will showcase our impact and inspire action
  • Lead and manage the CFK Resource Development Committee and Emerging Leaders Board
  • Be an external ambassador for the organization, advocating for our mission and having a visible presence in our community

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advance degree or certification in nonprofit management, fundraising or related field, is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively experience in fundraising, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers
  • Proven track record of successfully raising significant funds through corporate sponsorships, individual giving and peer-to-peer fundraising
  • Experience managing development teams and working closely with executive leadership and boards
  • Experience in healthcare or cancer organizations is a plus

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage, steward, and solicit donors at all levels.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate a compelling case for support.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to fundraising.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Superb public speaking skills with confidence and professionalism
  • Strong technical skills including:
    • utilizing Office 365 and highly functional in excel, word, outlook, teams
    • general skills in working in a donor database, pulling reports on demand
    • exposure to Canva, GiveSmart, DonorDrive and Donor Perfect is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary starting at $90,000 with bonus structure
