Our Volunteer Manager is a vital part time position (15-25 hr/wk) that owns overall volunteer management and coordinates closely with operational management to ensure smooth delivery of services to our clients. Volunteers are the heart of our organization and are key in delivering the services that we offer.
Key Duties include:
- Recruits, interviews, assigns and trains volunteers
- Maintains volunteer records, tracking reports, job descriptions and training manual
- Promotes awareness of volunteer needs via the IPM website, social media and other communication platforms
- Plans volunteer recognition activities
- Represents IPM’s mission and values to the volunteers and provides regular updates to volunteers on IPM’s services and activities in the community
- Lead IPM’s Volunteer Council and communication
- Provides guidelines for a safe, secure and efficient working environment for volunteer
- Assists Food Pantry Manager with process flows and best practices to maximize volunteers and staff in serving clients
- Assists Program Service Manager with client program design, flow and best practices to maximize volunteers and staff providing services

Qualifications
Three to four years’ experience in volunteer operations and a bachelors’ degree is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate must be extremely detail oriented, have excellent computer, organizational and communication skills; and possess the ability to work effectively under pressure and harmoniously with other staff. Skills are required in customer service, working independently, setting priorities and multi-tasking, along with the ability to train and motivate volunteers. Flexibility is required as some hours may be on Saturdays or in the evenings for specific events.
