The Role:

As a Therapist with us, you'll be at the forefront of providing crucial therapeutic support to individuals navigating substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting individual counseling sessions and leading engaging group sessions.
  • Maintaining meticulous documentation to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Crafting and implementing personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Coordinating seamless discharge planning for clients' smooth transitions.
  • Collaborating with other agencies to advocate for holistic care.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • One year of experience providing services to adults with substance use disorder and/or mental illness.
  • Required licensure: LPC, LSW, LPCC, or LISW.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. (The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Keyboard data entry required.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The role of the Therapist involves conducting individual counseling and facilitating group sessions, maintaining thorough and timely documentation in the electronic health record of clients/patients, developing treatment plans, and coordinating discharge planning. Additionally, the Therapist often engages with other agencies, advocates for clients/patients, and offers case management services.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Provide individual counseling and/or group facilitation to clients/patients with Behavioral Health disorders.
▪ Concise, timely and thorough documentation in the client/patient electronic health record as defined by agency standards.
▪ Discharge planning based upon the patient/client’s needs.
▪ Demonstrate a “whole person” approach to care in including the patient’s/client’s and family/support system when appropriate.
▪ Participate in training sessions compliance trainings and in-services to increase knowledge and skills.
▪ Completes assigned agency tasks in a timely manner.
▪ Family interventions as needed include education related to Behavioral Health disorders.
▪ Participate in scheduled meetings including treatment team and staff meetings.
▪ Develops networks of care for the betterment of the client.
▪ Demonstrate an understanding of Harm Reduction.
▪ Meets regularly with the Supervisor to ensure achievement of the required minimum level of direct service productivity based upon defined productivity     standards set by agency standards.
▪ Supports student internships and learning through mentoring and/or being a field liaison.
▪ Complete Government Performance Results Acts (GPRA) forms as required.
▪ Collaborates with other members of agency clinical staff to foster a network of support and diverse views regarding clinical issues which arise in the          performance of direct service functions.
▪ Assists in the development and implementation techniques, procedures and systems designed to improve the level of care or quality of services as  identified or needed for new and existing programs.
▪ Maintains all certification standards required by funding sources, the State of Ohio, and the agency; participates in educational and training opportunities  to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
▪ Other duties as requested.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Abilities
▪Ability to communicate/interact with patients/clients in a compassionate, concerned supportive manner which promotes understanding and recovery from substance use/mental illness.
▪Ability to interact with the community, interpret information and prepare reports as needed.
▪Understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Current Edition, American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, accepted practices of documentation, knowledge of evidence-based practices including Trauma Informed Care, Housing First, etc.
▪Ability to manage assigned caseload and responsibilities.
▪Proven proficiency with both oral and written communication skills.
▪Organizational skills and the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks.
▪Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact deal effectively in a positive manner with the public, team members and elected officials.
Position Requirements
▪Bachelor’s degree in psychology social work, counseling, or related field;
▪One (1) to three (3) years’ experience providing services to adults who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and/or mental illness.
▪Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
▪CPR Certification.
