Job Summary

The Save a Life Program brings evidence-based gun violence prevention trainings to
communities disproportionately impacted by firearm homicides and suicides. The program is
designed to reduce gun violence and suicide through targeted education in the neighborhoods
of Cincinnati with the highest incidents of gun violence. The Program Manager will be
responsible for fully executing the Save a Life program and ensuring grant and organizational
goals are met.

Job Description

The Save a Life Program brings evidence-based gun violence prevention trainings to communities disproportionately impacted by firearm homicides and suicides. The program is designed to reduce gun violence and suicide through targeted education in the neighborhoods of Cincinnati with the highest incidents of gun violence. The Program Manager will be responsible for fully executing the Save a Life program and ensuring grant and organizational goals are met. Other duties as listed below may be assigned. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

Prospecting & Retention

  • Build a queue of potential partners to ensure we meet grant and organizational goals
  • Actively network in the community to build partnerships and volunteer base
  • Nurture existing partner relationships to ensure future work and maintain support
  • Write thank you notes to partners and sponsors

 

Project Management

  • Work with partners and trainers to host and present relevant presentations throughout the community
  • Ensure brand and messaging standards in presentations and communications
  • Slide deck customization for presentations
  • Participant outreach & ongoing engagement
  • Management of the registration process
  • Work with the W/S team for regular updates and creative work delivery for website, email marketing, social media, and onsite collateral
  • Lead project meetings surrounding work in communities
  • Build a queue of trainers for each program
  • Establish and oversee a Save a Life committee of volunteers and partners within the community
  • Coordinate volunteers and assign functions
  • Act as liaison between Whitney/Strong and partners in the community
  • Onsite coordinator for trainings and programs, including utilizing various AV equipment and supplying program materials
  • Work with the W/S team to measure/track impact for grant funding and organizational goals
  • Manage expenditures and maintain financial documents for the program
  • Minimal travel required for onsite program management, team meetings, and professional development

 

Administration

  • Regular communication with the Program Director and participation in team meetings
  • Mutually agreed upon ad hoc projects to increase knowledge of organization and skill set
  • Data entry to help measure program efficacy and impact
  • Track and regularly update inventory sheets
  • Adhere to W/S messaging and maintain general knowledge of organizational work
  • General support of organizational work outside of the Save A Life Program

 

Skills and Education Requirement

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional relationships
  • Must be able to work independently
  • College degree or work equivalency
  • Basic technology skills, including utilization of Microsoft and Google Suites
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Strong program and project management skills: ability to own the project through completion
  • Demonstrates skill in the understanding of cultural differences
  • Passionate about working in an organization that values diverse experiences while promoting equal access and ensuring everyone feels valued
  • Preferably lives in Greater Cincinnati
  • Basic knowledge of firearm safety and suicide prevention preferred

 

Candidates will be required to pass a background check.

Compensation & Benefits: $50,000 Annually with 4 weeks of PTO + Paid Federal Holidays and a week off between Christmas & the New Year. Additional benefits are available for discussion.
