POSITION: Hope Enrichment Program Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The LHOI Hope Enrichment Program Manager is responsible for the direct oversight and management of the before-school, after-school, and summer camp youth enrichment programs.  The Program Manager works under the direct supervision of the LHOI Executive Director and maintains a collaborative relationship with the Lincoln Heights Elementary School Principal. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Before-School and After-School Programs:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the academic services offered, working collaboratively with Princeton City Schools district staff, Lincoln Heights Elementary School staff, LHOI staff, and other partners who provide needed services to the program.
  • Lead expansion of Hope Enrichment Programs  community wide.
  • Partner with the principal and staff of Lincoln Heights Elementary School to recruit, enroll and register students for the youth enrichment programs.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources allocated to the Hope Enrichment programs.
  • Recruit, interview, orient, train, supervise, and assist with the evaluation of the after-school, before-school and summer staff and volunteers. Teachers will be hired with the input of the school principal. Staff will be trained in health, safety, and educational objectives, including all determined curriculum components.   
  • Manage personnel, volunteer, and student files, retaining all needed information.
  • Assist with professional development and conduct on-going coaching for teachers, co-teachers, and youth enrichment program staff members.
  • Contribute in meaningful ways to school-wide and student goals, specifically defined academic performance for reading and math, youth development outcomes, and family engagement objectives.
  • Ensure supervision of students at all times including non-school activities as they occur.
  • Co-create with the school principal and LHOI ED a quarterly newsletter for distribution to parents/families.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and outcome records and submit timely reporting.
  • Perform other specific job-related duties as needed/directed.

Summer Camp Program:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee camp programs and activities to ensure a fun and engaging experience for campers.
  • Hire, train, and supervise camp staff.
  • Ensure summer camp attendees safety, including compliance with all health and safety regulations and emergency procedures in accordance with the American Camp Association.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics for campers and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on camp attendance and activities.
  • Manage camp budget and expenses, as well as grant funding requirements.
  • Perform other specific job-related duties as needed/directed.

General Administration:

  • Respect personal privacy; maintain the confidentiality of privileged information in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Attend and contribute to all LHOI staff meetings.
  • Organize and facilitate regular youth enrichment program staff meetings.
  • Provide content for the monthly LHOI newsletter.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in education, social work, child development, recreation, or related field. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, at least 7 years of applicable experience with some college level education.
  • Teacher certification is preferred.
  • Experience in team leadership, training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff.
  • Experience in working with youth in school or community settings.
  • Administrative experience including fiscal management.
