Job Summary

The Pantry Assistant is a part-time position that assists with the operations of the Drive Through, Choice, and Mobile Food Pantries, including but not limited to managing and maintaining a well-organized and inviting pantry, restocking inventory, vendor food pick-ups and maintaining vendor relations.

Join our team in a new 12,000 sq. ft. food pantry and distribution center. We have been addressing community needs for 60 years. We operate a Choice Food Pantry, a Drive Through Pantry and a number of innovative programs to serve our neighbors in need. Responsibilities

  1. Choice/Drive Through Food Pantry
    1. Lead setup, breakdown and supervision of volunteers during Drive Through or Choice pantry
    2. Monitors inventory and food orders as needed to ensure adequate supplies are available during pantry hours
    3. Picks up and plans for storage and movement of both donated and purchased pantry provisions
    4. Assists in maintaining the day-to-day activities of cleaning, stocking, filing and data entry and other relevant activities
    5. Assists with registering neighbors as needed using Oasis (neighbor database software) and TEFAP forms
    6. Assist in yearend inventory.
  2.  Mobile Food Pantry
    1. Supports and supervises volunteers during mobile food pantries
    2. Receives orders and ensures quantities ordered are correct
    3. Assists with set up for shoppers
    4. Assist with tear down and transport of leftover food to pantry
  3.  Supervision of volunteers and vendors
    1. Welcome and thanks volunteers
    2. Assigns tasks and utilizes volunteers’ skills during their shifts
  4.  Other Duties as assigned or needed

 

Other Considerations

    1. Benefits include PTO and paid holidays. Starting pay is $18/hr.
    2. Working conditions including outside in rain or snow and/or irregular hours.
    3. Primary hours are Tues/Wed/Thurs and two Saturdays (1/2 day)/month and in the evenings for specific events.
    4. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
    5. A valid driver’s license and vehicle
