Outreach Specialist
Position Overview: Collaborate with and support Program Director to grow current outreach programs that results in expansion of IPM’s reach in the communities it serves.
About IPM Food Pantry: Instead of attempting to alleviate the many root causes of poverty, IPM decided to focus on the issue of food insecurity. In order to expand food access to their community members, IPM opened a food pantry in Newtown, providing access to food for local families in need.
With a focus on removing barriers to food access, IPM continues to serve more and more community members. In 2022, IPM provided nearly 40 mobile food pantries, and nearly 70% of the clients served never come to our pantries between Mobiles, Pop-Ups and the Food Resource Hub. Partnering with more than 50 community organizations, IPM provides over one million pounds of food each year to families in need.
While IPM increases their impact, they recognize that access to food remains a major need. IPM depends on their neighbors to rally around this need, a need that has the capacity to bring everyone together for a common purpose: to build a thriving, food secure community.
Position Responsibilities:
• Client Outreach:
o Manage and track results of IPM’s Fresh Start Kitchen program
o Research, identify and collaborate with community agencies to broaden IPM’s reach in the community
o Assist with outreach communications and client enrollment for IPM’s annual events, including Community Picnic, Backpacks of Basics, Back to School and Christmas Toy Store
o Track and monitor select programs for internal reporting to the President/CEO and grantors
o Assist with IPM’s Mobile and Pop-Up Pantries
• Other Program Services:
o Oversee the clothing voucher program and manage relationship with St. Vincent de Paul
o Using Canva software, design and develop flyers for IPM outreach services
