Job Summary

This position will take a proactive approach to marketing the messages and mission of The Salvation Army to the community via several platforms - social media, website, virtual fundraising, email and digital marketing.  It will also provide graphic support to overall development fundraising initiatives which are year-round and coordinated with these activities.  In addition, this position will be available to give support to SWONEKY Division Corps with their needs for digital marketing strategies and increase The Salvation Army's visibility and branding locally and in the SWONEKY Division.  This position is responsible for providing fresh, creative stories and ideas as well as providing technical assistance/support to websites housed in various corps throughout the Division.

Job Description

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develops, updates, and maintains digital marketing/communications mediums and materials that support all aspects of the organization, including events, fundraising campaigns, programs, and general messaging.
  • Reviews analytics to maximize ROI on all digital marketing initiatives and recommends best course of action for digital campaigns.
  • Consults to Divisional field/staff in all aspects of digital marketing programs and is the point person for those campaigns.
  • Develops design work and graphics for illustrations, logos, reports, and social/website.
  • Works with the Territorial Headquarters in implementing digital marketing strategies for the SWONEKY Division.
  • Creates marketing materials like the Annual Report, brochures, newsletters, signage, fundraising campaigns, etc.
  • Takes the lead for content on all social media accounts, including email marketing, social media content to attract, inform and retain donors, and launch necessary fundraising initiatives as directed by the Development Team.
  • Utilizes Salvation Army branded materials, maintains a photography and videography database for Development usage, and supports efforts of front-line marketing, including volunteer groups and auziliaries when needed.
  • Oversees the SWONEKY websites to ensure content is up to date and functional.
  • May assist with planning and execution of special events, particularly regarding the marketing and advertisement of these events such as the development of collateral materials to support organization-wide special events, fundraisers, and special solicitations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College Degree preferred
  • 2 - 5 years' experience in Marketing, Brand Management, and/or Digital Advertising
  • High degree of organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Design work preferred (proficient in graphic design and related software
  • Proficient in MS Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook as well as marketing software.  Use of database software and Photoshop or another illustrator software a plus.
