We are seeking a dedicated and experienced relationship builder to join our development team. The Manager, Donor Growth and Cultivation will play a pivotal role in growing donors and revenue at the Tocqueville giving level ($10,000) in coordination with the organization's fundraising strategy. This involves prospect research and developing effective engagement and solicitation strategies as well as stewarding prospects throughout the major giving process.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of cultivating strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community stakeholder. The Manager, Donor Growth and Cultivation will play a pivotal role in advancing our fundraising efforts and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our organization.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

Relationship Building

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring personalized engagement and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with board members, executive leadership, and program staff to leverage existing networks and maximize philanthropic support.
  • Conduct donor research and prospecting activities to identify new opportunities for major gift solicitation.
  • Customize solicitation strategies based on donor interests, preferences, and giving capacity.

Volunteer Engagement

  • Engage and mobilize volunteers to support fundraising initiatives, events, and donor cultivation efforts.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to volunteer committees, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Train and empower volunteers to serve as ambassadors for the organization, effectively communicating our mission and impact.
  • Regularly communicate with volunteers to provide updates, solicit feedback, and recognize their efforts in advancing our mission.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of major gift fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Develop and manage cultivation events, donor recognition programs, and stewardship activities to deepen donor engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM database, tracking interactions, donations, and solicitation strategies.
  • Prepare timely and compelling donor proposals, reports, and presentations to support solicitation efforts.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in major gift fundraising, donor relations, or related roles.
  • Proven track record of securing significant gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in crafting compelling donor proposals and presentations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Frequent travel to events and meetings within the regional area.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values, with a passion for making a difference in the community.

Salary starting $60,000, plus competitive benefits package
