Information & Referral Specialist

Part-time position with the area's only Independent Living Center, a non-profit providing services for people with disabilities.  The Information & Referral Specialist will work as a member of the core services team to provide consumers with information, knowledge, and resources in an efficient and responsive manner.

Position Title:  Information and Referral Specialist

Part-time position (22.5 to 25 hours per week) with the area’s only Independent Living Center, a non-profit providing services for people with disabilities.  The Information and Referral Specialist will work as a member of the core services team to provide consumers with information, knowledge, and resources in an efficient and responsive manner. Compensation is $20 - $22 per hour. No benefits are offered with this position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assess caller’s needs for services and community resources; research options; provide accurate and unbiased information tailored to the caller.
• Collaborate with colleagues on resource needs.
• Listen and summarize callers needs to effectively assist them.
• Respond to inquiries in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Maintain records in the internal database for each inquiry.
• Develop and update a comprehensive guide of community resources.
• Maintain confidentiality of consumer information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and/or previous social service experience preferably with people with disabilities
• Must possess a broad knowledge of community resources, preferably Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with core services team.
• Must be able to problem solve.
• Ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish.
