The Executive Director is responsible for the planning, organization and direction of the organization’s operations and programs. In partnership with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and operational reporting metrics. The position will identify and solicit potential sources for fundraising opportunities, expanding revenue generation, and fundraising activities to support program operations. The Executive Director will provide leadership to and manage the staff to ensure appropriate support of all operations.

About Henry Hosea House
We are a 501 c (3) Non-Profit Soup Kitchen located in Newport Kentucky. Our Mission is to provide food and nourishment for the bodies and souls of the men, women, and children of Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area. We serve a hot meal seven days a week from 4pm to 5:30pm. We recently celebrated our 30th year of operations.
Executive Director Job Description:
The Executive Director is responsible for the planning, organization and direction of the organization’s operations and programs. In partnership with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and operational reporting metrics. The position will identify and solicit potential sources for fundraising opportunities, expanding revenue generation, and fundraising activities to support program operations. The Executive Director will provide leadership to and manage the staff to ensure appropriate support of all operations.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Board of Directors to identify, create and implement strategic plans to achieve organization objectives.
- Directs all plans and policies and to ensure the organization meets operation guidelines.
- Communicates regularly with the Board of Directors, keeping the board updated on program and operational results.
- Ensures the recruitment, employment, recordkeeping, management, and evaluation of all staff. Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performance staff.
- Monitors the production, service, and clean-up of over 100 meals per day.
- Ensures the facility is compliant with all Department of Health requirements.
- Works with community resources, existing donors, and foundations to raise financial donations for the Henry Hosea House. This includes individuals, churches, companies, and foundations.
- Actively seek ideas for all communication and media programs; Facebook, Website, Twitter, Instagram, Newsletters, etc. to promote the Henry Hosea House and its mission.
- Oversees existing grant benefactors and identify and solicit new grant opportunities.
- Networks and develops relationships with other social services providers and charities to expand the awareness and support of the Henry Hosea House.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior managerial experience in a non-profit organization
- Grant writing experience
- Four-year college degree or commensurate experience
- Passion for community development
- Ability to build strong relationships with board, staff, community leaders and funding entities
- Written and verbal communication skills, public speaking, social media, and interpersonal skills
- Microsoft Office suite of products
