Our Director of Development cultivates relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, local churches and community groups. Responsible for strategic fundraising initiatives for IPM including portfolio management, multi-channel solicitations, donor cultivation and stewardship activities, identification of funding sources (including but not limited to foundation requests), fundraising events, and other opportunities that relate to the overall development strategy. Leads the oversight of all communications and community relations activities.

Our Director of Development cultivates relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, local churches and community groups. Responsible for strategic fundraising initiatives for IPM including portfolio management, multi-channel solicitations, donor cultivation and stewardship activities, identification of funding sources (including but not limited to foundation requests), fundraising events, and other opportunities that relate to the overall development strategy. Leads the oversight of all communications and community relations activities. General duties include:
Essential Job Duties:
- Manage a portfolio of all past, current, and prospect donors with an emphasis on individual major gift donors and prospects, including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Lead donor communication strategies in partnership with the marketing director to for varying appeal efforts throughout the year, including but not limited to the Summer Hunger Challenge and Year End Appeal.
- Maintain and cultivate donor relationships by scheduling touchpoints in partnership with the President/CEO and Board of Trustees as appropriate.
- Create, lead and execute strategic grant calendar to include submission dates, LOIs and grant evaluation reporting in coordination with President/CEO. Note: IPM employs a part-time grant writer.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with foundation representatives.
- Maintain and execute annual strategy for development, including relationships and communications with Pantry Partner businesses and supporting churches.
- Lead all aspects of annual fundraising events.
Qualifications:
College degree or higher required; 3-5 years of relevant experience in a nonprofit preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with staff and the public in a professional manner.
