Director - Job Training
Tikkun Farm’s Job Training Program offers trauma-informed vocational support to High School students and Young Adults (Ages 14-21yrs) in Culinary Arts and Urban Farming/Landscaping. In addition to techincal skills training, students are introduced to skills that support their social-emotional wellness. The director of this program would support Tikkun Farm's mission to restore people, community and creation through their stewardship of a program that creates communities of belonging, as it equips young people to engage the world with confidence and resilence.
Tikkun Farm Job Training Director
Tikkun Farm’s Job Training Program offers vocational support to High School students and Young Adults (Ages 14-21yrs). Our 10 week cohorts offer skills trainings in Culinary Arts and Urban Farming/Landscaping. In addition to skills training, students learn mindfulness practices and participate in creative experiences that support social-emotional wellness. Our year-round part-time intern program offers graduates of our job training program an opportunity to deepen their skills in Urban Farming/Landscaping.
The Director of the Job Training Program is responsible for:
- Communicating the vision and mission of the Job Training Program
- Recruiting Participants for the program
- Recruiting Instructors (Culinary, Farming/Landscaping, Creative Expressions)
- Managing Partnerships with Organizations who Support the Program
- Supervise Instructors including tracking timesheets for interns and instructors
- Supervise Participants (Offer support, Liaison with Talbert House and Instructors, Conflict Resolution, Time Sheets)
- Manage Communications (to all participants/instructors/partners)
- Collect and Manage Data on Program Impact
- Collaborate with the Creation Care Director to manage interns and coordinate the learning cohorts
Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience teaching and leading young adults from diverse backgrounds
- Experience supervising others
- Ability to manage student reactivity in ways that deescalate reactive intensity
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to clearly communicate the status of ongoing projects
- Skilled in working in collaborative/team environments
- Skilled using technology, including Google Docs, Word, Excel, etc.
Position Details
40 hours week, Mon-Fri
Some remote work possible
$20/hour
