A successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and leading high-performing HR teams, developing and executing talent management strategies, and enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. Additionally, the Director of Human resources must have a strong business acumen and be able to partner effectively with leaders across the organization to achieve business objectives.
She/he understands the role of helping the organization build its capacity to find, motivate and support talent in a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, collaboration, diversity, inclusiveness, equity, teamwork, and excellence.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
HR Business Partnership & Employee Relations – 30%
- Partners with Executive staff to provide strategic HR guidance, including workforce planning, organizational design, and change management.
- Consultative resource to all people managers regarding human resources matters (development, performance improvement, etc.) to support organizational goals while minimizing organizational risks.
- Consultative resource to all employees providing coaching, dispute resolution, professional development recommendations or other appropriate support as necessary.
- Responds to and facilitates investigation and/or resolution of employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment and/or discrimination allegations.
Recruitment & Talent Management – 40%
- Develops, implements, and continually strengthens best practices for inclusive recruitment, orientation, development, and retention processes to maintain highly diverse and competent candidate pools, in addition to retaining a highly talented, diverse, engaged and committed team.
- Develop and implement comprehensive talent development strategies and programs to enhance employee capabilities and performance.
- Oversee the design and execution of training and development initiatives, including performance management systems and employee engagement systems.
- Collaborate with the executive team and managers to identify critical skill gaps and talent needs within the organization and create targeted development plans to address those gaps.
- Establish and maintain effective succession planning programs to identify and develop high-potential employees for key leadership positions, ensuring a strong leadership pipeline.
Compensation, Employee Benefits, and Compliance – 30%
- Stays up to date on employment legislation, compliance requirements, and industry trends to strengthen the human resource function including hiring procedures, personnel policies, benefits administration, data maintenance, etc. to advance organizational goals.
- Develops and implements HR policies, procedures, and programs that comply with applicable laws and regulations and align with the company's values and culture.
- Accountable for compensation structure, and review; benefits administration, disability, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and other insurance claims, I9, Federal & State employee reporting requirements and all other human resources administrative and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in human resources or management.
- SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including experience leading HR teams and implementing talent management programs.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws and regulations.
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office 365.
