Development Assistant
Assist the CEO with development and donor cultivation, assisting as needed with planning, implementing and operating Major Gifts Ramp Up. Assisting the CEO with administrative tasks and maintaining donor relations as assigned. To include phone calls, notes and other interactions that enhance, honor and cultivate donor relationships
REPORTS TO: CEO
CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME (25 Hours per Week)
SUMMARY: Assist the CEO with development and donor cultivation, assisting as needed with planning, implementing and operating Major Gifts Ramp Up. Assisting the CEO with administrative tasks and maintaining donor relations as assigned. To include phone calls, notes and other interactions that enhance, honor and cultivate donor relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Donor Recognition
- Mailing Donation Acknowledgments to Donors on a weekly basis. Ensuring envelopes are addressed and mailed timely.
- Sending personal thank you notes on behalf of the CEO to specified donors weekly.
- Mailing all items as required.
- Make calls on behalf of the CEO as requested to current or prospective donors.
- Handle 125 or more significant donor relationships.
- CEO Schedule – Assist if requested with scheduling.
- Follow up with emails as requested by the CEO on his behalf.
- Schedule appointments if requested on his behalf.
- Fundraising Events
- Assist with Major Gifts Ramp Up process– planning, implementing and follow up.
- Ambassador
- Be an Ambassador for the CEO: Polite, professional, and follow through.
- Standards of Performance
- When all responsibilities are performed timely and in a professional manner.
- Efforts meet minimal quotas.
- Routine program responsibilities are being carried out with minimal reminders or supervision from CEO.
- Perform any and all other duties as requested by the CEO.

Job Highlights/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with nonprofit experience of 5 years
- Associates Degree with nonprofit experience of 2-3 years
- Bachelors Degree with no nonprofit experience.
- Experience in a related filed or combination of education with tangibles
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Social Media Platforms
- Experience with customer service and relationship management
- Ability to work up to 25 flexible hours per week
- Professional work habits and dress
- Must have driver’s license, vehicle and insurance
- Understand confidentiality and adhere to it strictly
- Ability to communicate information that is sensitive and to maintain confidentiality
- Proficient time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to engage people and listen to their needs
- Must attend a Major Gifts Ramp Up workshop upon hiring.
Qualifications: See above (Exemptions can be made by the CEO). Candidates must have excellent organizational skills. Candidates with a valid driver’s license and good driving record are preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to move within the center, travel from site to site within the service area and lift up to 20 pounds.
