Development and Events Manager
This full-time, hyrid position is responsible for design, management and implementation of donor engagement activities and Caracole’s fundraising special events; solicitation of in-kind donations; and message-specific giving initiatives. The Development and Events Manager acts as the point person for volunteer activities within the agency as well as assists with Caracole’s donor database and works closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure that donations are properly acknowledged.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This full-time, hybrid position is responsible for design, management and implementation of donor engagement activities and Caracole’s fundraising special events; solicitation of in-kind donations; and message-specific giving initiatives. The Development and Events Manager acts as the point person for volunteer activities within the agency as well as assists with Caracole’s donor database and works closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure that donations are properly acknowledged.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree or minimum of three years’ experience of office and administrative duties; nonprofit experience preferred. Proven experience with event planning and management. Experience in database management (donor database experience) preferred, with proficiency in Office 365 including Word, Excel and Outlook. Must have personal transportation. Ability to work independently, pay excellent attention to detail; organizational and customer service skills required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising Events
- Coordinate and manage all Caracole fundraising events (planning, logistics, budget, ticket sales, sponsors, volunteers, etc.)
- Serve as staff liaison for event planning committees of board members and outside volunteers.
- Assist with event marketing and publicity.
- Solicit and coordinate needed event donations.
- Recruit, train and manage internal and external volunteers for events.
- Debrief and analyze event results for future planning.
- Assure that all events reflect the mission and values of Caracole.
Development and In-Kind Donations
- Support special projects for Chief Development Officer.
- Solicit in-kind donations for client pantry and as needed by the agency.
- Plan and manage schedule of monthly in-kind donation drives.
- Coordinate the inventory and acknowledgement of in-kind contributions.
Donor Engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors.
- Coordinate and manage donor engagement activities (smaller, non-ticketed events.)
- Maintain accurate donor records and track interactions to personalize future engagement.
- Implement strategies to steward donors, showing them the impact of their contributions and maintaining their interest in the organization's work.
- Gather feedback from donors to understand their motivations, expectations and areas for improvement.
Volunteer Coordination
- Coordinate with other departments to determine volunteer needs.
- Help to solicit volunteers for needed activities.
- Review and process volunteer applications.
- Develop and facilitate orientation sessions for new volunteers.
- Maintain records of all volunteer activities.
- Maintain volunteer appreciation acknowledgement/correspondence.
Other
- Stay informed about the nonprofit's mission, values and programs.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Participate in staff meetings and communicate relevant information with staff and volunteers.
- Pursue opportunities for professional development.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Office 365: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with database or donor software (DonorPerfect), Adobe Acrobat Professional preferred.

The preferred candidate also values lifelong learning and may not possess all of the qualifications listed in this announcement but is adaptive and willing to learn.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This full-time salaried hybrid position includes working in office two days per week; remote at home, and at onsite activities. Work is generally 9-5 Monday-Friday, but includes work during special events on evenings and weekends. The employee is frequently required to hear; use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, operate a telephone and computer. Must have driver’s license, insurance, and vehicle to travel to community locations. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. COVID 19 vaccination (or waiver) required upon hire.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
