Job Description

Dress for Success Cincinnati and Portaluca Boutique are seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide vision and leadership for their organizations. These highly respected organizations have partnered with Centennial to recruit for this critical role. These nonprofits empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. The hired leader for this position will have a tremendous opportunity to grow the organization through expanded services and strategic partnerships.

We are seeking someone who can provide overall management of the organization, confidently leading its growth and impact. The CEO will drive fundraising efforts, build partnerships to ensure financial sustainability and resource development as well as inspire and manage the team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.

The right candidate will know how to navigate the evolving landscape of nonprofit management while ensuring the organization remains financially sustainable and responsive to the needs of the community it serves.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champion the organization and promote the mission to internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead strategic planning in coordination with the Board to ensure alignment, implementation, ongoing monitoring, and evaluation
  • Serve as the face of the organization in the community
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including donors, funders, supporters and collaborators
  • Oversee the development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of the organizations’ programs and activities, including impact
  • Lead, manage, develop, and direct staff, volunteers and the organizational culture, in partnership with the Leadership Team
  • Partner with the Board Chair and Executive Committee to ensure the Board’s directives, policies and resolutions are carried out
  • Maintain relationship with Dress for Success Worldwide and oversee required reporting
  • Explore and cultivate productive partnerships with other agencies that share common goals
  • Represent the organization at community-wide initiatives focused on issues relevant to the mission
  • Stay informed, and keep the organization’s leadership informed, of significant developments and changes in the internal and relevant external environment
  • Ensure effective external communications about the organization and its mission, priorities, importance, programs and activities
  • Play a prominent role in fundraising and development, including cultivating and soliciting major foundation grants and individual gifts in partnership with the VP of Development
  • Develop, implement, monitor and assess sound and compliant financial management practices, including budgeting
  • Develop, inform and support the Board and its committees to carry out their functions
  • Ensure legal compliance and sound risk management practices
  • Exemplify a spirit of care and ensure the highest quality experience for all DFSC clients
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion and continue to work toward greater diversity, equity and inclusion within the DFSC staff

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven leadership skills, able to inspire, motivate, and manage a diverse team
  • Proven experience in fundraising and developing financial strategies to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth
  • Excellent skills in building and maintaining relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and lead a team to execute strategy
  • Ability and willingness to advocate for diversity, inclusion and equity at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively “up, down, and sideways” in the organization
  • Previous experience managing diverse programs and overseeing significant budget
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership experience
