ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Development will lead and execute the growth strategy for the foundation, with a primary focus on identifying, cultivating, and securing new fundholders. This role requires strategic vision, relationship-building skills, project management, and the ability to inspire philanthropic engagement within the community. The Associate Director of Development will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive fundraising campaigns, implement donor engagement strategies, and activate a volunteer committee to amplify the Foundation’s mission and impact.
Develop and implement strategies to identify and cultivate prospective donors, including individuals, families, and private foundations.
Create tailored outreach plans to attract new fundholders and strengthen long-term relationships.
Engage GCF team in prospect identification and solicitation.
Volunteer Committee Activation & Engagement
Recruit, train, and engage a volunteer committee, including GCF board members, to serve as ambassadors for the Foundation for the purpose of attracting prospective fund holders.
Empower volunteers with tools and resources to amplify recruitment efforts and represent the Foundation's mission effectively.
Moves Management
Develop and manage a systematic process for tracking and guiding prospect relationships through each stage of engagement.
Inspire GCF team members to engage in moves management process with prospects
Ensure thoughtful and timely communication to move prospects toward becoming fundholders.
Prospect Event Strategy
Work collaboratively with Event Manager to Design and execute donor cultivation events that align with the Foundation’s mission and values.
Leverage events to deepen connections with prospective donors and the broader community.
Research & Data Analysis
Conduct donor research to identify high-potential prospects and develop personalized engagement plans.
Utilize data-driven insights to enhance prospect outreach and donor acquisition efforts.
Salesforce Utilization and Reporting
Track goals and growth metrics.
Leverage Salesforce CRM to track prospect interactions, manage prospect pipelines, and reports on fundraising performance.
Ensure data accuracy and utilize platform features to streamline development operations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven track record in fundraising, donor cultivation, or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or philanthropic organization.
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and inspire a variety of stakeholders.
Experience in managing volunteer committees and activating community networks.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement successful growth strategies and donor engagement plans.
Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead and inspire an internal team to engage in prospect identification, cultivation, and engagement tactics and strategies
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field.
5+ years’ experience in development/fundraising with a preference for campaign experience.
Preference for CFRE or CAP designation
Knowledge of the local philanthropic landscape and community stakeholders.
