Job Summary

The Assistant Director for Strategic Initiatives and Campus Engagement in the Office of Transformational and Inclusive Excellence (OTIE) will report to the Assistant Vice President and support project management for key strategic initiatives led by the Vice President, Assistant Vice President, and/or Director; help coordinate, manage, and integrate the various components of our newly launched Constructive Dialogue Initiative; develop resources to support the expansion of Constructive Dialogue; develop and facilitate workshops to expand and sustain open and constructive dialogue for the campus community; maintain records and assessment connected to key strategic initiatives, such as Redhawk Equity Leadership Series (RELS). Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President, the Assistant Director will develop and coordinate events, activities, and programs that support OTIE’s inclusive excellence approach and grant applications, including skill-building events and workshops, event logistics, and project deliverables. The Assistant Director will also supervise student workers who coordinate the social media and promotional efforts of OTIE.

Job Description

Pay Type:  Salary

Position Salary Minimum:  $54,000

Position Salary Maximum:  $58,000

Salary will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.

Scheduled Weekly Hours:  40

Job Description

The Assistant Director for Strategic Initiatives and Campus Engagement in the Office of Transformational and Inclusive Excellence (OTIE) will report to the Assistant Vice President and support project management for key strategic initiatives led by the Vice President, Assistant Vice President, and/or Director; help coordinate, manage, and integrate the various components of our newly launched Constructive Dialogue Initiative; develop resources to support the expansion of Constructive Dialogue; develop and facilitate workshops to expand and sustain open and constructive dialogue for the campus community; maintain records and assessment connected to key strategic initiatives, such as Redhawk Equity Leadership Series (RELS). Essential Job Duties

  • Support continuous improvement of OTIE programs, events, and skill-building activities and workshops.
  • Project management for key strategic initiatives, under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President.
  • Coordinates and organizes project information and communicates updates with the leadership team.
  • Coordinate and manage event logistics for virtual and in-person events and speakers.
  • Participate in committees and groups for project planning and implementation.
  • Supervise student workers.
  • Establish metrics and dashboards to monitor progress of strategic initiatives, under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President.
  • Develop reports and benchmarking connected to key strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with developing project deliverables.
  • Assist OTIE team members in successfully completing projects connected to key strategic initiatives and campus engagement with OTIE campus initiatives. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Communications, Student Affairs, Sociology, Anthropology, or a relevant field and at least one (1) year of relevant experience; or B.A. in relevant field and at least three years of relevant experience in a higher ed setting.

  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner.

  • Previous experience working with people from diverse constituencies.
  • Experience working in a higher ed setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with students, faculty and staff.
  • Experience developing and facilitating workshops.
  • Experience coordinating events.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with assessment and event evaluation.
