Activity Coordinator
The Activity Coordinator plans and produces activities for the center. This energetic and engaged candidate will attend programs that they plan and promote in a manner that that is consistent with MariElders mission, goals, objectives and policies.

Position Title: Activities Coordinator
Full Time: Monday – Friday (7.5 hours per day, first shift)
Reports to: Executive Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION
This position is responsible for the development, promotion and implementation of the Center’s programs and activities in a manner consistent with MariElders mission, goals, objectives, and policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Responsible for the creation, publication, and organization of social activities for the enjoyment, intellectual stimulation, and psychological well-being of our members.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on all programs including planning, attendance, evaluations and follow through.
- Organize an activity calendar approximately 2-3 months in advance.
- Coordinate activities with staff and volunteers.
- Maintain a budget by keeping accurate account of all expenditures for each activity.
- Maintain the website with an updated calendar and program information.
- Represent MariElders in a positive light in personal interactions, in the community and with members.
- Assist with all fundraising events for the Center. Participate in staff meetings and trainings as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of older adults.
- Proficient in basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and website maintenance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a foundation in active and non-judgmental listening skills.
- Ability to fix situations quickly and or adjust activities for all involved, in a positive and encouraging fashion. Ability to work independently without direct supervision, seeking advice or direction as needed.
- Must possess the level of mobility that may require prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs. Must possess an essentially normal visual acuity, clarity of speech and communication level hearing ability.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Ability to handle interruptions well. Competent in organizational and time management skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
- Employees are required to hold a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured to drive the company vehicles safely.
- Employees are required upon hire to be tested and sign a drug-free workplace agreement.
- Employees are required to pass a criminal background check.
- Employees are required to complete Driving courses, CPR and First Aid Training
